In a powerful address marking the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising, prominent national leader and movement organiser Nahid Islam declared that the revolution is far from over. Speaking at a photo exhibition hosted at the official residence of the Leader of the Opposition, Nahid Islam – joined by senior leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP) – stated that the core aspirations of the uprising, specifically structural and constitutional reforms, remain unfulfilled.
Throughout his speech, he levelled heavy criticism at the current administration, accusing them of institutional nepotism, distorting the history of the July movement, and failing to prevent the fallen autocratic forces from holding press conferences in Delhi. He also warned of a growing constitutional crisis and a dangerous return of campus violence aimed at suppressing genuine July fighters.
